Pixiu 貔貅 [píxiu] or Pi Yao, originally known as Bi Xie (literally “to drive away evil spirits”) is a Chinese mythological hybrid animal that is considered a very powerful protector in Feng Shui. It resembles a winged lion in appearance.
Pixiu can be terrestrial or marine. It is said to have an insatiable appetite only for gold and silver. According to the traditional view of the Chinese, it has always been considered an auspicious creature that has the mystical power of drawing Cai Qi (wealth) from all directions.
